Clint, Texas, is a small town situated in southern El Paso County, about sixteen miles southeast of downtown El Paso. It is part of the El Paso Metropolitan Statistical Area and historically served as an agricultural center. The town was originally known as Collinsburgh, named after early settler Mary Clinton Collins. Over the years, Clint has developed from a small rail stop and agricultural community into the town it is today, with a population that has experienced fluctuations but generally shown growth over the decades.
